The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate in the February 23, 2019 presidential election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has finally reacted to the arrest of his lawyer and son in-law by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
In a statement by Atiku, obtained by ACEGIST, the former Vice President blew hot that he will never bow down to intimidation from President Muhammadu Buhari.
President Buhari was declared winner of the election, but Atiku has insisted on contesting the victory in tribunal.
Three weeks ago, ACEGIST reported that Atiku’s lawyer was arrested by the EFCC.
Also, we reported that Atiku’s son in-law, Alhaji Babalele Abdullahi, was arrested by the anti graft agency on Sunday.
Babalele, who is also the finance director of Atiku’s group of companies was arrested at his Maitama residence.
Atiku expressed his anger on the development through the couple of tweet below:
“My son in law and lawyer have been detained, one for 3 weeks and the other recently. They are paying the price for supporting me. I urge those now persecuting them to remember that a government’s mandate is to pursue peace and justice for all, and not just those who support them.
“We cannot bow down to intimidation from Buhari.”
