NPower – Build In Kogi Protest Over Non Payment Of Their Stipends For 11Months

Npower – Build Volunteers on Friday being 11th January, 2019 in Lokoja, Kogi State capital protest over non payment of their eleven (11) months Stipends.

Speaking to ACEGIST after a peaceful demonstration which lasted for several hours, the spoke person of protesters, Mr Ibrahim Tanko, said since they were officially engaged in March, 2018 with a promise to pay Ten thousand Naira ( N10,000 ), monthly, nine of fifteen of them engaged have not been paid a dime.

According to Mr Ibrahim Tanko, he said, ” we can no longer cope with the hardship as we use our personal money to go to Primary place of our Assignment on week days and the focal person, Mr Femi has subjected us to write all manner of letters … demanding our payments but the letters have not yielded any result.

We are fifteen currently serving with ISTC Centre – a sub unit under ITF in Lokoja, but is only six of us that have been paid since they engaged us March, 2018″.

Mr Ibrahim Tanko, who commended President Muhammadu Buhari for introducing the program also lamented that the good intention of Mr President is being tainted by those he described as “enemies of progress”.

Meanwhile, Mr Ibrahim Tanko, gave the details of the nine volunteers not paid for eleven months as follows; 

With this ugly development, Mr Ibrahim Tanko also went further to appeal to the President and the vice president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to use their good offices to address this injustice without further delay.
