A former Chief Press Secretary to Kogi State Government, Mrs Petra Akinti Onyegbule has reacted to a statement that “A woman without proper family is not qualified to vie for any elective post.
In what she titled: “SILENCE IS NO LONGER GOLDEN” on her Facebook wall, Mrs Petra Akinti noted with dismay why a responsible man would have imagined that thought.
Mrs Akinti, who sounded angry in defence of an outburst on Senatorial candidate of Kogi Central, Mrs Natasha Akpoti of SDP, who was featured on AIT a forth night ago along side Kingsley Fanwo, the DG media aide to Kogi State Government, said,
“I will not keep quiet. Some things transcend politics, this is one of them”
Mrs Onyegbule full statement read:
“If single mothers and divorced women cannot vie for elective positions not because they are not eminently qualified but because they do not meet your hypocritical and sanctimonious moral standards, you are miserably immoral to want their votes.
Should we then tell single mothers and their children who have come of age not to vote your candidates too?
When men come forward to vie for positions do we ask them how many women have children for them?
Do we ask them if these women are wives or concubines (official or not) or side chicks or side rats?
Do we ask how many Vaginas your penises have made voyages to? (NO)
We don’t. We simply ask for the value addition you propose.
And we carry your market on our heads.
Why is it so impossible for same to be done for us women? Why?
Campaign for your candidates and stop showing how atavistic you are.
This is not the Stone Age and I will not sit back and watch any entity denigrate another human simply because of gender.
I will not keep quiet. Some things transcend politics, this is one of them.
You lily-livered folks, just waka pass. Waka pass and don’t come inbox”.
