Ovation publisher, Dele Momodu, has reacted to the reply of President Muhammadu Buhari to former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s 16-page criticism letter he wrote to him over the weekend.
Besides accusing Buhari’s regime of failure in the letter, Obasanjo alleged that Buhari was taking the country down the path of Sani Abacha, former military dictator.
But in a reply by the President, issued by his spokesman, Garba Shehu, said they are unable to get the word to describe a 90-year old liar.
President Buhari’s reply further stated that, “Chief Obasanjo is jealous because President Buhari has more esteem than him and the sooner he learns to respect him the better.
“It is a notorious fact that in dealing with any leader that he failed to control, he resorted to these puerile attacks. As the grand patron, more correctly the grandfather of corruption as described by the National Assembly, Chief Obasanjo released today’s letter purely for the reason of rescuing his thriving corruption establishment.
“What Chief Obasanjo and his co-travelers in the PDP should expect in February, 2019 election, is that from the outcome, we will teach them a political lesson that they will never forget. This margin will be much bigger than we had in 2015, ” the reply partly read.
Dele Momodu, however reacts to Buhari’s reply to Obasanjo by digging out one of his 2015 speech with the qoute:
“Former President Olusegun Obasanjo is a courageous patriot and statemean who tells truth to power when he is convinced leaders are going wrong,” General Muhammadu Buhari, March 4 2015.
