Senator Shehu Sani and Reno Omokri are amongst those who have condemned President Muhammadu Buhari for traveling to Jordan while many are being killed by bandits in Zamfara State.
Zamfara State has been in the news of recent for the incessant killings in the state by armed bandits.
While some people have condemned the state governor, Abdul’azeez Yari for not doing enough to stop the killing, prominent amongst who is popular TV presenter, Kadiari Ahmed who called him the “most useless governor in the history of Nigeria,” some have argued that it is the president that is to be blamed.
Protest have also been held to call on President Buhari to come to the aid of the state by stopping the killings.
Reno and Shehu Sani have however, faulted President Buhari, who is currently in Jordan for a submit, for abandoning the people of Zamfara and traveling.
On his take, Reno said: “I am so pissed tight now. I saw the bodies of Nigerians dying like flies in Zamfara. Instead of @MBuhari to visit or at least condole, he is there travelling to Jordan, Dubai, Pakistan when his own country is turning into Backwardistan right before his own eyes! #RenosDarts.”
Sani, in his parabolic way of presenting matter, said: “Thee ignored the skulls of the fallen on thy path,and crosseth the River Jordan and dine with the King,while thy distressed men and their Horses are stuck in the Valley of death.”
However, President Buhari has said it is unfair for anyone to suggest that he is not doing much about the killings in Zamfara State.
The president stated this on his official Twitter account while reacting to the outrage of people on the subject matter.
“It is ridiculous and unfair to suggest that I am not concerned about the situation in Zamfara, or doing anything about it. Ensuring the protection of the people of Nigeria is one of my primary responsibilities and functions. No other issue dominates my attention as much,” the President said.
