President Muhammadu Buhari in his usual blunt manner has told his council members present at the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting that many of them would not had been there if he has lost the election.
President Buhari was declared reelected by the Independent National Electoral Commission on Wednesday after satisfying the necessary conditions.
The president thereafter held its first FEC meeting after the election on Friday.
The meeting was well attended by the Secretary to the Federal Government, Chief Of Staff to the President, Head Of Service and over twenty ministers.
In his remark, President Buhari also gave the reasons he made effort to tour all thirty-six states and Abuja.
“I am pleased that members of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) are collectively meeting here today where we play our weekly role, to congratulate me. I think if I have lost the election, I don’t know how many of them will be here.
“During the campaigns, I tried to visit the 36 states and Abuja, firstly, to prove to the other side that I am fit, I tried to cover 2 states per day; and secondly, not to make anybody feel left out. So, I thank God that He gave me the strength and health to see through my plan,” President Buhari said.
