The small girl whose video of being chased from school for non-payment of school fees went viral has attracted the presence of the Delta State governor’s delegate in her parent’s house.
The video of the small girl went viral two days ago when she was recorded saying she would rather remain in school and be flogged than going home when chased for school fees.
A twitter user, @azukamukolo who made the this known on his twitter page also said that the government official gave her some money.
“The Power of Social Media at work. Little Success & her parents were paid an unscheduled visit by a Delta State Gov’t official who gifted her some money & promised to establish her parents. Thanks @_iBarelyTweet @Tutsy22 & everyone who escalated this,” his tweet read.
Reactions, however, trail the visit with many calling for the general overhauling of education system.
Some reactions read
– I advise the government declare state of emergency on education and not just give money…
– While commending @DSGovernment for even converting this poor child’s right to charity, I wish to call on it to take this challenge to the next level by revamping the school system in Delta State.
EVERY CHILD IS SUCCESS!
– This is good. But how little girls “Success” will be reached with this tokenistic tendency? We need a social system where everyone is taken care. Simple.
– It’s a national phenomenon, not just peculiar to Delta State alone. In fact, only a handful of states in NGR can boast of better standards in terms of infrastructure and performance of students generally.
